Caylus Gallery
Conde de Aranda, 24
28001, Madrid
Our gallery was founded in 1988 and has been dealing since then in important Spanish paintings from the Gothic to the mid 19th Cent. As such we have been one of the leaders for Spanish and Latin American Colonial Art and one of the few Spanish galleries participating in international fairs. Among our institutional sales are the “Portrait of the Condesa de Chinchón” by Francisco de Goya, considered his most important female depiction, now at the Museo del Prado and most recently the "Portrait of the Marquesa de Espera” by Federico de Madrazo also now at the Prado. Also, the set of 12 canvases by “El Greco”, the “San Feliz Apostolate” for the Museum of Fine Arts in Oviedo. To Spanish and international collections we have recently sold four very important paintings by Goya and one of the few known still lines by Sánchez Cotán, a stunning “El Greco”, a pair of rare and superb still lives by Pedro de Camprobin and most recently a “Portrait of a girl” by Velázquez to a Spanish collection. The gallery has also curated the exhibition of the Abelló collection in Madrid and Dallas (Meadows Museum).
